Sellfy is an online store builder aimed at creators. You sign up, pick a theme, add products and share a store link. It covers digital downloads, subscriptions, physical products and print-on-demand merchandise, so a musician can sell a sample pack, a monthly beat subscription and a hoodie from the same place.

This page is for creators, illustrators, musicians, educators and small brands comparing tools to sell what they make. It explains what Sellfy does, how its plans are structured, who it fits well and what to check before you commit your catalog to it.

What is Sellfy?

Sellfy is a hosted, no-code e-commerce platform. The company hosts the store, the checkout and the file delivery. You do not install anything or manage a server. You work in a dashboard and a drag-and-drop store editor.

It supports four types of product:

  • Digital products: ebooks, presets, music, video files, design assets. The buyer gets the file after payment.
  • Subscriptions: recurring products billed weekly, monthly or yearly.
  • Physical products: items you ship yourself, such as prints, books or stickers.
  • Print-on-demand: you design a T-shirt, mug or cap, and Sellfy's fulfillment partners print and ship it when someone orders.

Sellfy is not a marketplace. Buyers do not browse a Sellfy catalog of other sellers to find you. You bring the traffic from your social accounts, your newsletter or your website. It is also not a full course platform with lessons, quizzes and student progress. You can sell a video file or a course as a download, but the tool is built around a store, not a classroom.

Related vocabulary: a digital product is anything delivered as a file or access. A storefront is the public shop page. A transaction fee is the percentage a platform takes from each sale on top of its subscription.

Why it matters

Creators often start on a platform that takes a cut of every sale and later look for a flat monthly price. Sellfy sits in that second group. At the time of writing (September 2026), its pricing page lists 0% transaction fees on every plan, with plans priced by annual sales volume: Starter at $29 per month (or $22 per month billed yearly) for up to $10,000 in sales per year, Business at $79 per month ($59 yearly) for up to $50,000, and Premium at $159 per month ($119 yearly) for up to $200,000. The payment processor, Stripe or PayPal, still charges its own fee on each payment.

A worked example shows why the model matters. Say you sell a $15 preset pack and make 60 sales a month. That is $900 a month, or $10,800 a year:

  • On a platform that keeps 10% of each sale, you would give up $1,080 a year in fees, plus processing.
  • On Sellfy at that volume, you pass the $10,000 Starter limit, so you would look at the Business plan: $59 a month billed yearly, $708 a year, plus processing.

The flat model wins once your sales are steady. It loses when sales are small or irregular: at 5 sales a month, you still pay the subscription. Sellfy's FAQ also says that if your revenue passes your plan's limit, you are asked to upgrade, and if you do not, a 2% fee may apply to further sales. Plan for your growth before you pick a tier.

How it works

The setup follows a simple path:

  • Start a trial. Sellfy offers a 14-day free trial without a card. You can build the store and add products during the trial, but you need a paid plan to start selling.
  • Build the store. Pick a theme, adjust colors and layout in the editor, and connect your own domain if you have one. SSL is included.
  • Add products. Upload files for digital products, set a billing period for subscriptions, add stock and shipping for physical items, or design print-on-demand merch from Sellfy's catalog.
  • Connect payments. Sellfy works with Stripe and PayPal, so buyers can pay by card and, depending on the setup, wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • Share and embed. You share the store link on social networks. If you already have a website, Sellfy lets you embed buy buttons, product widgets or the whole store.
  • Market. Coupon codes, customer reviews and email marketing are on every plan, with a monthly allowance of email credits. Product upselling, cart abandonment emails and affiliate marketing start on the Business plan.
  • Deliver. Digital files go out automatically after payment. Print-on-demand orders go to the fulfillment partner. Physical orders you ship yourself.

Every plan also lists VAT and tax settings, mobile-optimized stores and email support.

Benchmarks and examples

Sellfy fits some profiles better than others. A few typical setups:

  • A music producer sells beat packs at $25 and a $9 monthly subscription for new loops. Digital delivery and recurring billing in one store is the draw.
  • An illustrator with 12,000 Instagram followers sells $8 phone wallpapers and adds a print-on-demand T-shirt line without holding stock.
  • A YouTuber sells a $39 editing template pack and embeds a buy button under each tutorial on a personal website.
  • A small brand moving from a marketplace wants its own domain and email list, and a price that does not grow with each order.

As a rough guide, the flat monthly price makes sense once your yearly sales are well above the subscription cost. At $22 a month, that is $264 a year. If you sell $2,000 a year, the subscription is about 13% of revenue. If you sell $9,000, it is under 3%.

Common mistakes

  • Picking a plan on today's sales only. Plans are capped by yearly sales. A launch that goes well can push you over the limit mid-year.
  • Expecting marketplace traffic. Sellfy hosts your store. It does not send you buyers. You still need an audience and a reason for people to click.
  • Forgetting processor fees. 0% platform fees does not mean zero cost per sale. Stripe or PayPal charges its own fee.
  • Assuming every feature is on Starter. Upselling, cart abandonment, affiliates and removing Sellfy branding are on higher plans.
  • Treating it as a course platform. If you need lessons, quizzes and student tracking, a dedicated course tool may fit better.

Best practices

  • Estimate your yearly sales first. Take your best month, multiply by 12, and pick the plan that leaves you room.
  • Use yearly billing once you are sure. The yearly price is about 25% lower than monthly on each plan.
  • Connect a custom domain. Your store link then belongs to your brand, and moving later is easier for buyers.
  • Build your email list from day one. Every buyer is a contact. Use the built-in email marketing to announce new drops.
  • Test print-on-demand with one design. Order a sample before promoting a merch line, so you know the quality you are selling.
  • Check tax settings early. Digital product sales can create VAT obligations, especially for European buyers.

In Roctify

Roctify takes a similar stance on fees: 0% transaction fees on every plan, including the free one, so only the payment provider's processing fee applies. The difference is in the structure. Roctify gives you a link-in-bio page with built-in checkout and a full online store that share one catalog, so products, stock, customers and orders are the same everywhere. You can sell physical products and digital products, courses and downloads delivered automatically after payment, with Stripe, PayPal or cash on delivery.

Sellfy has features Roctify does not offer today. Recurring subscriptions are on the Roctify roadmap, not shipped. Roctify also has no print-on-demand, affiliate program, upsell or cart abandonment tools. If recurring billing or merch without stock is central to your business, weigh that honestly.
